The mission of the Association
is to assist its members to enhance the care and quality of life of all individuals served.

The Idaho Health Care Association (IHCA-ICAL) is Idaho's only association of Licensed Skilled Nursing Facilities (SNF), Intermediate Care Facilities for the Mentally Retarded (ICFs/MR), Assisted Living and Residential Care Facilities (ALF/RCF) and Allied Health Care related businesses and organizations.

Representing over 100 SNF and ICF/MR facilities and 6,060 beds, the IHCA-ICAL membership encompasses approximately 95 percent of the SNF beds in Idaho and approximately 90 percent of the ICF/MR beds in the state. IHCA-ICAL also offers membership to residential and assisted living facilities in the state.

Founded in 1966, IHCA-ICAL is a leader in the development and protection of the ability of long term care providers to deliver responsive health care and other services to their clients in safe and secure environments.

IHCA-ICAL advocates on behalf of its members and the clients they serve by representing their interests before the legislature and state government entities. IHCA-ICAL is a forum for the exchange of information and ideas. IHCA-ICAL produces an Annual Convention & Trade Show (held each July at the Boise Convention Centre), and three seasonal single day workshops in January (Boise), April (eastern Idaho), and October (northern Idaho).
